Simple lifting machine
A simple lifting machine is a mechanical device designed to lift or move heavy loads with minimal effort. These machines use basic principles of physics to reduce the amount of force needed to lift an object. Common examples include:
1. Lever : A rigid bar that pivots around a fixed point (fulcrum). By placing the fulcrum closer to the load, less effort is needed to lift it.
2. Pulley : A wheel with a rope or cable that allows the user to lift heavy objects vertically. Pulleys can be combined (block and tackle) to further reduce the effort required.
3. Inclined Plane: A sloped surface that allows heavy loads to be rolled or slid up, reducing the effort needed compared to lifting vertically.
4. Wheel and Axle: A circular component (wheel) that turns around a central rod (axle). This setup reduces friction and makes it easier to move heavy loads.
