In Microsoft Word, effects like Bold, Italic, and Underline are text formatting options that change the appearance of your text to emphasize certain parts or make them stand out. Here's what each effect does:

1. Bold (Ctrl + B)

Makes the text thicker and more prominent.

Usage: Often used for headings, subheadings, or to highlight important words or phrases.

   How to apply:

     1. Select the text.

     2. Click on the Bold button (a capital B) on the Home tab or press Ctrl + B.

2. Italic (Ctrl + I):

Slants the text to the right, giving it a cursive-like appearance.

Usage: Commonly used for emphasis, titles of books, articles, or to indicate foreign words or technical terms.

   How to apply:

     1. Select the text.

     2. Click on the Italic button (a slanted I) on the Home tab or press Ctrl + I.

3. Underline (Ctrl + U):

Draws a line under the text.

Usage: Often used to emphasize text or create headings. It can also be used for hyperlinks.

   How to apply:

     1. Select the text.

     2. Click on the Underline button (a capital U with a line under it) on the Home tab or press Ctrl + U.

4. Strikethrough:

Draws a line through the text, indicating that something is crossed out.

Usage: Used to show edits or removed content.

   How to apply:

     1. Select the text.

     2. Go to the Home tab and click the Strikethrough button (a crossed-out abc).

5. Subscript and Superscript:

Subscript places the text slightly below the normal line (e.g., H₂O).

Superscript places the text slightly above the normal line (e.g., x²).

Usage: Commonly used in scientific, mathematical, or technical writing.

   How to apply:

Subscript : Go to Home > Subscript (x₂).

Superscript : Go to Home > Superscript (x²).

 6. Small Caps :

Converts lowercase letters to uppercase, but keeps them smaller than normal capital letters.

Usage: Used for stylistic emphasis in headings or design elements.

   How to apply:

     1. Select the text.

     2. Press Ctrl + D to open the Font dialog box, then check Small Caps.

7. Shadow, Reflection, Glow, and Other Text Effects:

Adds visual effects like shadows, reflections, or glow to your text.

Usage: Mainly for design purposes to make text stand out in visual documents like flyers or presentations.

   How to apply:

     1. Select the text.

     2. Go to Home > Text Effects and Typography(an "A" with a glow under it) and choose from the available effects.
